Terms of Service

Sidelines is a scheduling and communication app for volunteer-run youth sports leagues: rosters, schedules, RSVPs, snack and concession sign-ups, announcements, and league pages. It is free for coaches and families, carries no ads, and is provided as is by the people who run it. Leagues that use it (for example a local soccer association) run their own seasons; Sidelines is the tool, not the league.

You need an account to see a team. Keep your sign-in to yourself, tell us if you think it has been used by someone else, and use the app only for the teams and leagues you actually belong to. A coach or league director can remove a member; you can leave at any time. Our Privacy Policy says exactly what we keep and why.

Do not post anything that identifies a child beyond what the roster already shows, do not upload photos or videos of children anywhere in the app (there is no place to), and do not use announcements or texts for anything other than the team. We can suspend an account that does.

Program. Sidelines sends youth-league alerts on behalf of your league to people who opted in: schedule changes, game cancellations and rainouts, volunteer-shift reminders, and coach announcements. No marketing, no promotions.

Opting in. Texts are off by default. You opt in by adding a mobile number and ticking Text me schedule changeswhen you accept a team invitation, or later under Me. You will receive one confirmation text when you do.

Frequency. Message frequency varies with the season, typically a few texts a week while your team is playing and none in the off-season.

Cost.Message and data rates may apply. Sidelines never charges for texts; your carrier's plan is between you and your carrier.

Opting out. Reply STOP to any message to stop immediately (STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END and QUIT all work). Reply START to resume. You can also untick the box under Me.

Your number. We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Our text-messaging provider (Twilio) carries the messages and nothing more.

Carriers.Supported carriers include AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and most US carriers; carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
